Closing remarks at HotelSpaces Conference
On October 29th, 2024, the META Foundation participated in the HotelSpaces conference in Palm Springs, CA, which focused on the future of hospitality. Savinien Caracostea delivered the closing remarks, presenting the work of the Foundation, and its Hospitality 3.0 Framework.
Future Hospitality Summit 2024 Dubai
On September 30, 2024, the META Foundation took the stage at the Future Hospitality Summit in Dubai, leading a critical discussion on digital transformation within the hospitality industry. Joining a distinguished panel of designers, technology innovators, and cultural experts, Markus Schreyer emphasized the need for a hospitality framework that transcends traditional service models by integrating sustainable, human-centered, and tech-enabled solutions.

In our quest to redefine hospitality for the modern era, we are proud to present the Hospitality 3.0 Framework, developed following a series of working group sessions, hosted by NYU SPS over the last year. It outlines a transformative approach that integrates hospitality with digital transformation to address pressing global challenges.
Hospitality 3.0 Symposium at NYU
The symposium provided a unique platform for thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers to converge, share perspectives, and co-create solutions. From discussions on reimagining hospitality as a planetary system to exploring the intersection of design, technology, and wellness, each session underscored the importance of collaboration, empathy, and innovation in shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future.
UN Forum on Sustainable Tourism
On January 30th, 2024, the META Foundation participated in the Forum Discussion on Sustainable Tourism at the United Nations Headquarters, hosted by the UN SRC CTC. We presented our approach to hospitality, being not just about making people feel welcome in a new place, but about creating systems and technologies that ensure our world can be a home to everyone, now and in the future.
Economist Metaverse Summit 2023
The META Foundation had the honor of participating in the prestigious Economist Metaverse Summit held in Los Angeles on October 10th, 2023. The summit, which brought together visionaries, thought leaders, and innovators from various industries, explored the transformative potential of the metaverse and its implications for the future of business, society, and human interaction.
Announcing partnership with NYU SPS
The META Foundation has partnered with The NYU School of Professional Studies to launch an ongoing multi-disciplinary forum and research laboratory that explores sustainable and impactful forms of tourism and hospitality which take full advantage of new technologies such as AI, VR/AR, web3, and spatial computing.
Launching a seminar series at Les Roches
The META Foundation is proud to announce the launch of an innovative seminar series in collaboration with Les Roches, one of the world’s leading hospitality schools. This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower students to explore and innovate new forms of 'virtual hospitality' using Web3 concepts, revolutionizing the way we connect and engage in digital spaces.
Dancing into the Future: Web3, Metaverse & Beyond
On the heels of HipHop’s 50th anniversary and the highly anticipated opening of the Universal Hip Hop Museum in New York, The META Foundation joined The Hopenclass and HEC Paris to curate an intensive MBA course on campus and online.
Announcing The Prayer Flag Project
Together with VAST Bhutan, the Rubin Museum of Art, and Polygon Studios, The META Foundation pioneers virtual travel with ‘The Prayer Flag Project’, a collection of 1080 impactful NFTs spreading good wishes and positive messages from Bhutan — a small Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas that measures happiness instead of gross domestic product — while supporting educational programs, and the cleaning of Bhutan’s mountains.
Virtual Bhutan Presentation at Fast Company Innovation Festival
For its debut project, META Foundation introduced Bhutanese Contemporary Art to the virtual world—and reimagined VR tourism. Thanks to a collaboration with VAST Bhutan and NFT-artist Krista Kim, Asha Kama’s “Windhorse” was exhibited in the metaverse on September 29, 2021 before being auctioned as the artist’s, and possibly Bhutan’s, first NFT.
